Ingredients for Bright Cake with Spiderman

For the Sponge Cake:

  • Baking powder – 1 tsp
  • Cocoa powder – 2 tbsp (for the chocolate layer)
  • Sugar – 200g
  • Eggs – 5 large
  • Butter – 150g, melted
  • Whole milk – 120ml
  • Food coloring – red and blue

For the Triple Chocolate Cream:

  • Dark chocolate – 200g
  • Milk chocolate – 150g
  • White chocolate – 100g
  • Heavy cream – 300ml
  • Butter – 50g

For Decoration:

  • Spiderman edible figure or topper
  • Red, blue, and white icing
  • Edible decorations (e.g., stars, webs)

 

Recipe for Bright Cake with Spiderman

Step 1: Prepare the Sponge Layers

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line three 8-inch round cake pans.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, sift together flour and baking powder. Divide into three portions, adding 2 tbsp cocoa powder to one portion.
  3. Prepare Batter: In another bowl, beat eggs and sugar until fluffy. Gradually mix in melted butter and milk. Divide the batter into three portions. Add red food coloring to one, blue to another, and mix cocoa powder into the third for the chocolate layer.
  4. Bake: Pour each colored batter into its own cake pan and bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let the layers cool completely.

Step 2: Make the Triple Chocolate Cream

  1. Melt Chocolate: In separate bowls, melt the dark, milk, and white chocolates using a double boiler.
  2. Whip Cream: In a large bowl, whip heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gradually mix in melted chocolates one by one, creating a layered chocolate cream. Stir in butter for a smoother texture.

Step 3: Assemble the Cake

  1. Layer the Cake: Place the chocolate sponge layer on a cake stand. Spread a layer of triple chocolate cream, then add the red sponge layer. Repeat with another layer of cream and the blue sponge layer on top.
  2. Frost the Cake: Cover the entire cake with the remaining chocolate cream. Smooth the sides and top with an offset spatula.
